Dancing in the Maritime Museum
During the holiday period around Christmas, our dance floor was located in the entrance hall of the Maritime Museum. For 2 weeks, every visitor could illuminate the floor by dancing on it: a fun and unique experience for both children and adults. Through this interactive activity, the museum wanted to involve visitors in the production of clean energy in the form of a festive December attraction.
It turned out to be a success: the Maritime Museum attracted a record high of 200,000 visitors in 2016, partly thanks to the well-attended opening of the Offshore Experience.
Rotterdam Maritime Museum launched an energy exhibition in 2016 – the Offshore Experience, and we installed a sustainable dance floor.
The Offshore Experience showcased research around the search for energy and challenged children to think about the future energy supply.
